dogcamsports have kindly lent us their top of the range helmet camera and recorder for us to test and review.
The bullet camera we have is the new Sony HQ1 550 line camera, the main advantage with this camera is the speed at which it can adjust to changing light conditions. For example, if you were riding through the woods on a sunny day, this line camera will give you the finest picture quality available for a lipstick sized camera.
The camera will be linked to their hard disc 'anti-shock' recording system. This records video from a helmet camera at full 720x576 resolution. This is the PAL standard at 25fps.
This unit is the closest you'll get to using a camcorder in terms of video output quality in MP4 format and sports many other useful functions that we think you'll really like.
No other MP4 recorders currently available can record at this quality
And here's better news, dogcamsports have agreed for Doug to use it in 'The Alps' over the next few weeks.
Doug has first hand experience of various helmet camera systems and will bring back not only a review of the camera kit but also fist class footage of mountain biking in the Alps.
