Rides.
Back somewhere in the
depths of time known as 2004 on a forum far far away six
likely lads met for their very first forum ride. That was
in May at a place called Cannock Chase, a place that was
to change the riding habits of most that turned up. So into
2005 we continued our education as we went to Afan where
The Wall gave us some challenging vertigo moments and probably
won the argument for having a full susser, hardtails bounced
you down the mountain you see. A return to Coed Y Brenin
in September laid to rest some more ghosts and served as
a useful guide to the riders progression. Now we seek more
riding challenges as we cast our net even wider.
So
once we get the British winter out of the way we’ll
be up for some more challenging stuff, lets see if we can
make an enduro and 7Stanes.
Don’t forget you’ll find details on all the “forum
rides” and whether you can expect a “killer loop” or
a poodle down a fireroad (yeah right!), articles about rides
and routes we’ve done and your favourite rides, so
don’t forget to keep submitting them and use the rides
diary to submit an up coming ride you’re gonna do.
If you’ve got any stories and pictures of any ride
you may have done just send them to us and we’ll get
them posted, plus you’ll get a namecheck, kind of your
chance of 20 minutes of fame, just ask Mr Warhol how cool
that is!
Some of our rides:
Genus and Robcoll hit the
twrch trail at Cwm Carn in South Wales and suprisingly
the weather was almost good, warm anyway, still, they took
some photos including a rather extreme jump section, click
here for the photos...
In September 2004 we had our first
weekend away at Coed-Y-Brenin where we did some scuba diving,
wind surfing and the occasional ride up a river, more details
at this link...
Tatty Tiger went to Malbie
and Dalbeattie (before he went ditch diving and on to New
Zealand) and found out that body parts, sorry armour are
a help after
all,
plus
he
had a
look at
that
slab of
granite, slippy isn't it, anyway read all about, click
here...
Ever thought about going on a Mountain
Bike Course, no, well find out what happened when one of
the gang went on the beginners course, click here...
An epic loop
so an epic story of Loadpot Hill in the Lake District, click
here for more...
Flat Eric and some other forum friends did a charity ride
for MacMillan Cancer Relief riding the Great Yorkshire
Mountain Bike Challenge at Hade Edge. By all accounts it
was bloody hard work but worthwhile as well so read
his story here…
Next forum rides
are at Cwm Carn and Cannock plus the gang recently had
forum rides in the Peak District and Swinley Forest so
go to the
forum rides page for
more bits and bobs.
If you would like to submit any ride
storys, photos or quickies on things that have happened
to you out on the trail send them to us using the link
below.
